A Bit More About Where We Began & The Services...
Message from Our Founder – Katherine Jordan
"I founded Therapeutic Support Services in 2018, building on over 25 years of experience working with children and adolescents across a wide range of private and public sector services. Over the years, I witnessed how the shrinking of public provisions was failing to meet the needs of children and families in our community. This inspired me to create a service that could truly go the extra mile—one that could make a lasting impact and bring about lifelong change for the children and families we support.
Therapeutic Support Services was born from my vision to combine the transformative benefits of therapy with dynamic, creative, and responsive support services. As we’ve grown, I’ve had the privilege of watching our team change lives every day. We’re not here for quick fixes—we’re here for as long as our clients need us. Our work focuses on addressing the root causes of difficulties, creating profound and lasting change for those we support.
At Therapeutic Support Services, we are deeply passionate about the work we do and the clients we serve. When meeting someone new, we take the time to truly understand you and/or your child, creating a bespoke support plan tailored to your unique needs. We pride ourselves on our ability to skilled therapeutic support for both mental health and neurodiversity, recognising the urgent need for a service that integrates both areas. We’ve seen first-hand how these challenges often intertwine, influence, or escalate each other, and our approach is designed to address them holistically.
Our team brings a wealth of expertise, covering a wide range of specialisms, including anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal tendencies, autism, ADHD, SEN needs, PDA, sensory integration, difficulties with food, and more.
Our mission is to continually evolve and adapt our services to meet the changing needs of our community. Please keep an eye on our offerings as we continue to grow and strive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the children, young people, and families we support."
“We think that children act, whereas what they mostly do is react. Parents who realize this acquire a powerful tool. By noticing their own responses to the child, rather than fixating on the child’s responses to them,
they free up tremendous energy for growth.””
