Support Sessions for Parents Alongside Children / Young People's Support
Its really important that families are involved when a Child / Young Person goes through therapy. We aim to make sure we are working together, to get the best outcome for your child and the challenges you maybe facing as a family.
To do this, we offer separate sessions for parents/guardians, to run alongside the sessions for your child. In these sessions we have chance to check in and see how things are going at home, explore any changes that might be happening as your child goes through therapy and support you with any challenges that might be happening at home.
We can agree the ratio for these sessions that is suitable for you (normally 6:1), as part of the initial meeting process.
See the young people's page for more information in this

Family Therapeutic Support Sessions
We understand that family life can be really stressful, and the demand on parents is ever increasing. As well as this, mental health statistics for children and young people has more than doubled in the couple of years, with far less social and systemic support available.
The pandemic has also placed a huge amount of pressure on family life, we understand how easy it can be to get caught in poor communication patterns, leaving everyone feels frayed and burnt out.
That's why we are here to help... Having some professional support at the right time can prove really useful in getting to the heart of the difficulties, as well as having some practical tools and strategies to improve communication, ways to bond and connect as a family.
As professional's working with children, young people and families for over 25 years, we can also help with referrals for additional services, assessments or signposting for additional support. With each family we work with, we are dedicated to offering a tailored service to meet the needs of your family.
We offer in person sessions in our therapy room in Paignton, Devon. We also offer online services via Zoom when face-to-face sessions may not be viable.
The sessions can be short-term or long-term, depending on your needs. Normally I would recommend that we meet regularly - weekly, fortnightly or monthly, for the duration of the time that you may need some support, until you reach a point where you feel able to continue without me.
All family support sessions will be offered by 2 therapists.
