Qualifications/Training:
BSc (Hons) in Social and Therapeutic Interventions. Psychology and counselling skills, FdSc Level 5 Accredited counsellor with the NCPS Background: "I have always had a deep interest in mental health and neurodiversity, as well as a passion for helping others. This interest grew further as I learned more about how and why many people struggle with their mental health. It led me to complete both of my degrees in the mental health field, gain my professional accreditation, and continue developing my knowledge through further study in neurodiversity. A key part of my approach is understanding how the neurodiverse brain works—its gifts, its challenges, and the unique ways it processes the world. I support clients in recognising their strengths, understanding areas of difficulty, and learning how to make both self-adaptations and practical adjustments in daily life. My aim is to help neurodiverse children and young people feel empowered, capable, and confident in who they are, while developing tools that support them to live their best lives. I am committed to helping others on their therapeutic well-being journey through care, knowledge, and genuine understanding. One of the most important elements of my counselling approach is creating a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment. This allows us to talk openly and honestly, which is essential for building an effective pathway towards healing and growth. My therapeutic practice is integrative, meaning I draw on a wide range of therapeutic methods to tailor sessions to each individual. This may include CBT, person-centred therapy, play therapy, and other creative approaches. Using a varied toolkit helps me gain a deeper understanding of your experiences and better support your goals and challenges. Most of my counselling work has been with children and young people—an area I am genuinely passionate about. I believe that helping young people understand the basics of mental health and well-being at an early stage gives them lifelong skills, confidence, and resilience. Developing coping strategies during childhood and adolescence can support not only their present difficulties but also their long-term emotional health and overall quality of life." |

Qualifications/Training:
Background: Hi, I’m Kate, and I’m an integrative counsellor who works with children, young people, and their families. I believe that everyone has the inner strength and ability to find their own way toward healing and growth — sometimes, we just need the right space and support to help us get there. I bring with me around 25 years of combined personal and professional experience of understanding and supporting mental health challenges, including experiences of self-harm and emotional distress. My own journey of healing is a big part of why I became a counsellor — I know how difficult life can feel at times, but I also know that with the right support, change and recovery are possible. More recently I have begun to explore and understand the world of neurodiversity, with all its strengths and challenges. I love being able to help clients come to a place of ease and understanding with this part of themselves. I work in an integrative way, drawing on a range of approaches to suit each person’s unique needs. My sessions often include creative arts and play-based therapy, as well as sensory and trauma-informed approaches. This flexibility allows me to meet children and young people where they are — whether that’s through talking, creativity, movement, or quiet reflection — helping them to explore their thoughts and feelings in ways that feel safe and comfortable. Alongside my work with children and young people, I also run a private practice where I support adults through their own challenges and personal growth. Across all ages, my aim is to offer a space that is compassionate, non-judgmental, and shaped around the needs of the individual. |

Qualifications/Training:
Background: I aim to create a warm, safe and nurturing space where children and families feel heard, understood and empowered. For me, the most important part of the work is building trusting relationships and helping each child recognise their strengths and potential. I completed my undergraduate degree in Therapeutic Psychology at University of Roehampton and later trained as a Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner, which allows me to deliver Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to children and young people. I also offer parent-led CBT and structured parenting support, working closely with families to ensure they feel confident and supported every step of the way. I have been working with children and young people for over 10 years in a variety of settings, and supporting their mental health is something I feel deeply passionate about. Much of my experience has been working with children with autism, an area that is especially close to my heart. I love helping young people better understand themselves, build confidence, and develop practical tools to manage their emotions and challenges. As part of her NHS CAMHS training as a Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner, I completed training in family-focused interventions, equipping me to work collaboratively with parents and carers to strengthen relationships, support behaviour change, and help families implement practical strategies to improve a child’s emotional wellbeing. |
